Top Washington Post Writer Defends Pederasty

Something of a stirring of conscience seems to be taking place among progressives at the moment, both in the press and in their communities themselves.  There is a sudden refusal to tolerate the sort of sexual exploitation that was, before the election of President Donald Trump, celebrated in the acting community and studiously ignored among its politicians.

While the stench of hypocrisy will be hard to shake, these are welcome developments, though it remains to be seen whether they are genuine and will inform public standards of conduct and artistic representation.

Much of the outrage relates to the abuse of women.  The controversy surrounding Republican politician Roy Moore has taken the concern in a different direction, that of pedophilia.

Pedophilia is the elephant in the room.  It is also in the news because of charges levied against Kevin Spacey as well as the long-ignored allegations of Corey Feldman.

There will need to be a more startling conversion on that front.

The grounds for tolerating pedophilia have been prepared for some time, in keeping with the longstanding tendency of progressives to treat criminals as victims.  The New York Times published an article directly rejecting the criminality of pedophilia a few years back and The Atlantic’s piece legitimizing it as a ‘sexual orientation’ is characteristic of a growing consensus that pederasty should be the next hill to conquer for the social justice movement.

It has been the aim of the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) since its inception.  And it is allegedly a ‘big problem’ in Hollywood itself according the Guardian newspaper.

There is, in other words, a clear trajectory towards legitimizing sexual interactions between adults and the youth which is also evident in the ‘consent’ based sex-ed curricula in the public schools.

is another who has openly defended pederasty.

The irony of the progressives’ turn against pedophilia is evident, but we should welcome rather than ridicule genuine repentance on these issues.
