Barbara Kay: TDSB does Da’wah

The Toronto District School Board is quickly gaining worldwide notoriety for the lengths it will go to encourage cultural relativism by the contortions of political correctness.  It only recently sought to ban the word ‘chief’ to avoid the terrible offence that might be taken by natives.

Here it also just so happens to fit the proselytising impulses of Islam, the practice known as Da’wah.

The question that surely must be asked is why the allegedly neutral TDSB is promoting the religious stance of Islam throughout its schools, and exclusively Islam, without a hint of criticism?  Is it because, as Barbara Kay suggests, because “the TDSB officials were so eager to ingratiate themselves with their Muslim partners on this project that they failed to read what was presented to them with a critical eye, and so overlooked the danger the controversial words represented.”?

Or are they afraid of being labelled Islamophobes in antipation of a bill arising out of M-103?  In either case, another worrying development in Canada’s largest school board.
