The U.S. fertility rate just hit a historic low. Why some demographers are freaking out
Fertility rates are now below replacement rates throughout the Western world, and the demographic winter that results has long been known by ethnographers. Birthrates are if anything trending downwards.
Countries that seek to preserve their national culture, like Japan, France and Russia, have had pro-family policies for years. These policies are of questionable success, but they do indicate a recognition of the problem.
On the other hand, countries whose political elite are in the thrall of Cultural Marxist tenets are steering in a different direction. They encourage policies of mass migration and create a cultural ecosystem that forces women to stay in the workforce or pay a high price.
The culture of death extends well beyond the policies of abortion and euthanasia.
