Study finds the nonreligious can be more close-minded than the religious
I take the findings of surveys with a pinch of salt as a rule, particularly those that produce controversial findings with what they admit are low sample-sizes and which suit my own confirmation biases. I see people angling for more research grants.
Still, this has a ring of truth about it. In my experience atheists are often highly convinced about the rectitude of their views. This does not mean that they are ‘close-minded’, but it may mean that they might lack a certain breadth of imagination to consider alternative viewpoints, which is what this study appears to suggest.
