Raheel Raza is a reformist progressive Muslim. Born in Pakistan, she has lived in Toronto, Canada for close to 30 years, working in various capacities as a speaker and a writer. Raza has long been a human rights activist, and has advocated for sexual equality, particularly for Muslim women, and against the growing threat of Muslim extremism.
Here she testifies before the U.S. House Subcommittee on how to combat homegrown terrorism. Her stance is brave and very much against the status quo.
