In his short book What happened to Christian Canada?  American historian Mark Noll noted that until its centenary, Canada had a very good claim to being a more Christian nation than the U.S.  Noll cites various causes for the change, which have the combined effect of minimizing responsibility for a vast cultural shift.

Brad Salzberg’s provocative little piece more pointedly harbours the responsibility for the cultural revolution in a political agenda.  It began with Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s Marxist war on Canada’s historic bilingual identity through ‘multiculturalism’, and continues in his son’s divisive identity group politics.
