The Liberal War on English Canada
In his short book What happened to Christian Canada? American historian Mark Noll noted that until its centenary, Canada had a very good claim to being a more Christian nation than the U.S. Noll cites various causes for the change, which have the combined effect of minimizing responsibility for a vast cultural shift.
Brad Salzberg’s provocative little piece more pointedly harbours the responsibility for the cultural revolution in a political agenda. It began with Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s Marxist war on Canada’s historic bilingual identity through ‘multiculturalism’, and continues in his son’s divisive identity group politics.
I have noted something similar in a lecture here.
The two Liberal Prime Ministers have a common enemy: English Canada.
