German Constitutional Court Bows to Activists

Birth certificates record the most basic facts of a person’s individual status at birth.  One of those markers, the most important one in terms of individual personhood, is that of sex.  A newborn is recorded as male or female.

While there are a small percentage of people born as hermaphrodites, i.e. with the sexual organs of both sexes, male and female identity is expressed in countless other ways.  And there is no ‘third way’ on the matter of personal human identity.

Gender, on the other hand, is a term used to describe the social conventions associated with a person’s biological sex.  The social expectations and roles related to being male or female are less rigid than the biological, though once again, they have until recently had a binary expression.  There are roles that men fulfil, and there are roles that women fulfil.  There is considerable fluidity on that front, with the exception of those for which female biology is required.

What there was not until very recently is a concept of gender unrelated to sex.  But with the advent of the internet, where a person’s biological personhood is hidden behind the icon of their ‘virtual’ presence, and the growth in influence of the Cultural Marxists in the university, the idea of an almost infinite number of genders has grown to be accepted, and gender is now regularly (and intentionally) confused with sex, as if the two terms had equal legitimacy.

The patent absurdity of this state of affairs is evident in the discrepancy on the number of genders that exist among various public bodies, all of which have SOGI legislation to punish ‘deniers’ that does nothing other than subvert society.

As LifeSiteNews notes, “The city of New York has 31 legally protected genders. Facebook has gone further by giving account holders 58 genders in the United States and 71 in the United Kingdom. In Ontario, the new sex curriculum will teach children at least six genders. There is no science to back these new words. It’s being pushed by the politics of power, sex and correctness. And those that control language shape thought and behaviour. Laws are in place to make that one disagrees, otherwise the person can be charged with hate speech, fined or even go to jail.”

The New York Times reports that the social madness whereby gender is conflated with sex, and attains legal recognition.  The highest court in Germany apparently cannot discern the clear distinction between the words sex, a biological reality, and gender, a social construct. In this, it follows the lead of Canada where social radicals appear to have their greatest foothold.

The threat to Western civilization is now reaching a critical mass that must concern many more than a few outspoken academics like Dr. Jordan Peterson.
