Two days ago, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner died at the age of 91. He was one of the figures most strongly associated with the Sexual Revolution.

There have often been complaints that Hefner demeaned women by making them into a commodity.

This is too one-sided.  It is more accurate to state that he demeaned everyone. Commodifying women demeaned the men who consumed his product as well as the women who were made into one.

Today we have a report in the New York Times from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has found that STDs are rising precipitously.  About 1/3 of the entire population of the U.S. is infected, by those numbers.

At the same time, sex-ed curricula are being mandated in government schools.

Perhaps the Sexual Revolutionaries are not the best guides…
