Following Sweden’s lead, Canada’s new ‘feminist’ foreign policy is devoting 95% of its $650m budget over 5 years to programs that target gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
50% of the development budget will go to sub-Saharan Africa, and the amount of funding going to ‘health and reproductive rights’ will double.
The devotion of many of these resources to the notorious Clinton Foundation might raise eyebrows on its own. The connection between Clinton, the Tides Foundation, and foreign intervention in the 2015 Canadian election makes it even more problematic.
But above all, there is the question of whether or not this ‘foreign aid’ is anything other than a form of ‘ideological colonization.’
